Using the channel and address to segregate the network
There are multiple protocols and connection mechanisms for IoT devices, Modbus, Zigbee, Z-Wave and EnOcean for example.
Depending upon your implementation, you might be using full hardware in the loop testing or
intercepting the request at the driver level. Because of this there is no way all protocols
and their variants including physical connections can be supported. IoT
Simulation Hub, allows you to segregate the different communication mechanisms
using channels
.
If you have 2 physical Modbus RS485 connections, you could assign a channel
to each physical connection.
If you have a mixed environment of Zigbee, Z-Wave and EnOcean devices, you could assign a channel
to
each protocol type.
The channel
and address
provides a versatile mechanism to identify peripheral devices on you network.
