Adding a register

Adding a register is dependant upon the protocol type of the device.

Adding a Generic16 register

Adding a register
  1. Enter the register name
  2. optionally a description for the register.
  3. Select the data type. See supported data types
  4. Enter the start address for the register. For complex types such as int32, two registers will be used to hold the data.
  5. Enter the initial value for the register.

Press the add button

Once the register is added it will appear in the registers for the device.

To aid visualisation of the device memory map both the start address, length and end addresses are displayed for a register

Adding a Modbus register

Adding a register
  1. Enter the register name
  2. optionally a description for the register.
  3. Select Modbus register bank
  4. Select the data type. See supported data types
  5. Enter the start address for the register. For complex types such as int32, two registers will be used to hold the data.
  6. Enter the initial value for the register.

Press the add button

Once the register is added it will appear in the assigned register block for the device.
